What's New in Cogent: Week of January 26, 2026
Cameron Coles, VP of Marketing
Most security teams run more than one endpoint tool. Maybe CrowdStrike handles your core fleet and Microsoft Defender covers a segment you onboarded through an acquisition. The problem isn't having both. It's that your vulnerability data lives in two places, with two different views of risk, and no clean way to reconcile them.
And when the data that does make it into your platform has gaps or inaccuracies, you need a way to fix it directly. This week's updates address both: a new Microsoft Defender for Endpoint integration and manual override capabilities across the knowledge base and action queue.
Microsoft Defender for Endpoint integration
Cogent now ingests vulnerability and asset data from Microsoft Defender for Endpoint. If you're running Defender alongside CrowdStrike, SentinelOne, or other endpoint tools, all of that signal now flows into a single view.

The integration handles entity resolution automatically. If the same asset appears in both CrowdStrike and Defender, Cogent matches them and presents a unified record rather than creating duplicates. You can also filter by source, so if you want to see only Defender findings (or exclude them), that's a single filter away.
Manual overrides for the knowledge base and action queue
You can now edit knowledge base attributes and action queue items directly. If an automated data pull got something wrong (an incorrect owner, a misclassified asset, a remediation step that doesn't match your process), you can fix it yourself.

Manual override capability keeps your data accurate and keeps your team working inside the platform instead of around it. Edits are supported across knowledge base attributes, and action queue items like remediation steps can be adjusted to match your actual workflows. You stay in control of what the data says and how your team acts on it.
