What's New in Cogent: Week of January 5, 2026

Cameron Coles, VP of Marketing

Every security team has a reporting problem. You know the one: someone asks for a slide deck before the board meeting, and suddenly your afternoon disappears into a cycle of screenshots, spreadsheets, and PowerPoint formatting. Meanwhile, the vulnerability that's been sitting in your environment for 11 months gets another day older. And you have no easy way to tell which ones those are.

This week, we're shipping two updates that fix both of those problems: PowerPoint export from the General Agent and new vulnerability filtering by age and source vendor.

Generate executive-ready reports without leaving Cogent

The General Agent can now produce polished PowerPoint reports directly from your data. Ask it to build a summary of your remediation progress or break down open vulnerabilities by severity, and it will generate a deck you can hand to your CISO or drop into a board packet.

No more screenshotting charts. No more pasting into slide templates. The report reflects your live data, formatted and ready to present.

This has been one of our most-requested features, and for good reason. Security leaders spend real time on reporting. Hours that could go toward actually reducing risk get burned on formatting. Now the General Agent handles that work for you, in the same conversational interface you already use to query your environment.

Filter vulnerabilities by age and scanner source

We've added two new columns to the Vulnerability Instance view: age (how long since the vulnerability was first seen in your environment) and source vendor (which scanner found it).

These seem simple, but they change how you prioritize. Age lets you surface the vulnerabilities that have been lingering the longest. These are the ones that tend to fall through the cracks, especially in large environments where new findings constantly push older ones down the list.

Source vendor lets you slice findings by scanner, which is particularly useful if you're running multiple scanners. You can isolate findings from a specific tool, compare coverage, or filter out noise from a source you know over-reports in certain areas.

Both columns are filterable and sortable, so you can build views that match how your team actually works.
